OUR CHURCH MOTHER

Lucretia Boyd Hutcherson is the wife of the late Deacon Thomas Hutcherson, Jr. of 57 years. She was born and raised in Palatka, Florida, where she graduated from Central Academy High School and was a member of Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she was baptized in Jesus' name. Mother Hutcherson was a devoted wife and loving mother to their four children, ten grandchildren, and four great-grandkids. She retired from Hampton Inn-Daniel Island, SC, and Berekely County, SC Schools.

Mother Hutcherson plays a vital role as a member of the Emanuel Baptist Church family, serving as its Church Mother. She has also served as a member of the RB Gillins Choir, Usher Ministry, Missionary Ministry, and past president of the Deaconness Ministry.

Mother Hutcherson's faith walk is grounded in the 23rd Psalm 1 -6, "1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever".

Mother Hutcherson is glad to be used by God to honor her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who is the head of her life, and recognition to Pastor John T. and Lady Wanda Miller and the Emmanuel Baptist Church family. And as she always states, "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, Oh Lord, my strength and my redeemer.
